Safety is incredible

It is absolutely safe to walk late at night almost anywhere in Dubai. The punishments for offending the law are severe and most of the population strictly abides the laws.

Yes, it's safe none the less. But I should add for women bur Dubai, karama, deira all these regions feels wired to walk late at night. As everyone expects u to be a hooker, the crowd is mostly men. But other areas like jbr, marina, jumeira, side is still fine as they are more popular for late nighters

Hi Ilya

I'm currently considering moving to Dubai for two years on a work assignment, so finding your site has been great. It's really helpful, full of really useful information, so I want to say - great job and thank you!

Just one question, about your "Love and Hate" section. It troubles me a little bit that there are several "Hates" but only one "Love"! Safety is incredibly important to me so it's reassuring to know that the city is safe, but I would really be interested to know what other things you "Loved" (or even liked! ;-)) about your time in Dubai?

Thanks

Julie

Hi Julie, I guess that's because Loves/Hates  come in comparison with previous experiences. I benchmark vs. Moscow and Singapore, so I tend to focus on what Dubai lacks as compared to those places and it does lack a lot of things I consider sort of normal like public transport, drainage infrastructure and pavements.

But let me try.. :)

Certainly nice shopping malls, accessibility of the sea, huge variety of restaurants and bars, affordability of nice cars (I drove my childhood's dream car in Dubai), opportunity to fly Emirates almost anywhere in the world.

If you have specific questions or areas of concern, write here, I will do my best to provide expanded answers.

im in dubai from 4 days and i feel bored can u tell me why?
